Client: Office of the Styrian State Government Nature Conservation Department
In the area of nature conservation in Styria there were sometimes considerable areas of tension between different user groups and the representatives of nature conservation. These were partly due to disappointments from the past or expressed themselves in clear conflicts of use. Within 10 months a nature conservation strategy for 2025 was drawn up with the involvement of all relevant actors and the fields of action and need for action were presented in a comprehensible manner. A clear positioning of nature conservation on various topics creates trust, enriches the culture of discussion and subsequently facilitates conflict resolution. Based on the new strategic orientation with the necessary focus and priorities, the potential for nature conservation activities could be used in a more targeted manner. The nature conservation strategy made it possible to resolve a number of areas of tension and build new trust.
