Basis for an independent assessment of valuable habitats

The EU Restoration Law increases the need for a comprehensive survey and assessment of ecologically valuable habitats. The project aims to support farmers in independently identifying habitat types and their ecological quality, as well as assessing habitat suitability for birds, butterflies and pollinators. This will enable well-informed management decisions and lay the foundation for future results-oriented agri-environmental subsidies.

The project will develop the scientific and technical foundations. This includes establishing a focus group, analyzing existing systems and data, defining suitable indicators for habitat assessment, developing management recommendations and designing a database with corresponding interfaces and recommendations for further implementation.
