How climate change adaptation succeeds (2026)

Client: KLAR!-Region Nature and Geopark Styrian Eisenwurzen

Climate change is progressing particularly rapidly in the mountain valleys of the Alps. In addition to climate protection measures, these regions must also learn to cope with altered climatic conditions. However, adapting to change is often difficult.

For the climate change adaptation region of the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature and Geopark, we developed humorous illustrations that highlight where changes in behavior are necessary. The illustrations are based on the areas of activity for climate change adaptation and are widely used in the region for communication via screens and social media. It was therefore important that the messages be easily grasped. In addition, a small detail from the region was incorporated into each illustration to foster a sense of identification with the topics among the local population. The illustration concepts were masterfully executed by Geert Gratama.
