Analysis of the implementation of Article 22(b) of the Habitats Directive (2021)

The new EU Biodiversity Strategy to 2030 calls for strengthening and expanding measures to combat IAS. Another goal is to reduce the number of Red List species threatened by IAS by 50%. One possible instrument for this is Art. 22(b) of the Habitats Directive. The analysis focused on identifying the current implementation of Art. 22(b) in the legislation and scope of application in Austria and Germany.
