Guiding Principles on River Management in Upper Bavaria

The interactive phase of the Hotspot-Project “Alpine River Landscapes – Living Diversity from Lake Ammer to the Zugspitze“ culminated in the “Loisach River Talks“ held in the bavarian town of Benediktbeuern. Together with various stakeholders from the fields of nature conservation, energy, fisheries, municipalities and tourism, the current situation of the Loisach was reviewed and evaluated.

The afternoon session dealt with the major players of the region and their attitudes towards nature conservation. A PowerMap helped structure the discussion. What are the consequences, when institutions or individuals important to the region turn out to be unsupportive of nature conservation – and how can they be won over? The River Talks were concluded by a creative workshop: “Tell us your project bestseller: When you think about the next 10 years – what do you want to see implemented by then?“
